Africa Focus Nigeria Vs Luxembourg: Iheanacho to lead Eagles attack

Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho is most likely going to get the nod to lead the Super Eagles’ hunt for goals in Tuesday’s friendly against Luxembourg.
Camp sources hinted that that the 19-year old will be partnering Brown Ideye upfront as Coach Salisu Yusuf is keen to try out another attacking formation since the Alex Iwobi and Odion Ighalo did not deliver the goals in last Friday’s 1-0 win over Mali in France.
Iheanacho actually saved the day for the three-time African Champions as he netted the solitary goal of the day off a well-worked out assist from Qatar-bound Babatunde Michael after coming in as a 74th minute substitute for Arsenal man, Iwobi.
If he indeed gets to start against Luxembourg, this will be the second time the 19-year  would be doing so for the Eagles having earned his first start in an AFCON 2017 qualifier in Kaduna against Egypt.
South Africa –based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi may start in place of Carl Ikeme while there is the likelihood that former U-17 and U-20 star Wilfred Ndidi could start in midfield alongside stand –captain Ogenyi Onazi and Shehu Abdullahi.
Also, Turkey –based defender Kenneth Omeruo is a candidate for a starter’s shirt in central defence.
